Forest Hill Presbyterian Church is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). We are a loving community of people who worship God in spirit and in truth, seek to faithfully proclaim and live the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and strive to serve one another and our community with the love of Christ. Our worship is reverent but relaxed, a blend of traditional hymns and contemporary worship, centered on the preaching of God's Word. Our doctrine is Reformed, as summarized in the Westminster Confession of Faith, and our community is warm and welcoming.
Jason Van Bemmel serves as the pastor of Forest Hill Presbyterian Church. He and his wife, Beth, have been married since 1998 and they have three children: Andrew, Jeremiah, and Kathryn. Jason is a graduate of Reformed Theological Seminary, Washington, DC (2009). He previously served as the Head of School for New Covenant Christian School and as the pastor of Faith Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Cheraw, SC. Pastor Jason loves preaching and teaching God's Word and is excited and humbled to serve Forest Hill Presbyterian Church as her pastor.
Shawn Trautman and Jason VanBemmel serve on the Session of FHPCA as elders. Their responsibilities include praying with and for the people of Forest Hill Presbyterian Church and overseeing all spiritual interests.
Shawn is a nurse manager at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He and his wife (Andi) have two children. Shawn has been a part of FHPC since we began in 2017.
Joel Raiber and Adam McDonald serve as Deacons. They minister to those in need and oversee the property of the congregation. They are men who exhibit spiritual character, honest repute and sound judgement.
Joel and his wife (Dawn) have 4 children. They use their gift of hospitality for congregational get-togethers and hymn sings. Joel plays the guitar as part of our Praise Team.
Adam and his wife (Amber) have two children. Adam teaches Sunday School and serves on the Building Committee and the Care Food Night Team.
After years of faithful service, elders who have asked to be released from active service are given the title of "Elder Emeritus". We are blessed to have three who have served our church with distinction for many years.
