Holy Week 2018: The Savior in the Psalms
Psalms 22-24 have been read together as a set by the church for many centuries. Together, they paint a beautiful picture of Jesus in His suffering and satisfaction (Ps. 22), Jesus as our Good Shepherd (Ps. 23) and Jesus as our Victorious King of Glory (Ps. 24).
We are using these psalms as the basis for our Holy Week worship for 2018, working backwards through the set:
Palm Sunday: Psalm 24 - "The King of Glory" - Listen | Read
Maundy Thursday: Psalm 23 - "Servant Savior" (along with John 13:1-20) - Listen | Read
Resurrection Day: Psalm 22 - "Suffering and Satisfied Savior" - Listen | Read

Behold your king!
Surely he has borne our griefs
and carried our sorrows;
yet we esteemed him stricken,
smitten by God, and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our transgressions;
he was crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace,
and with his wounds we are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray;
we have turned—every one—to his own way;
and the Lord has laid on him
the iniquity of us all. - Isaiah 53:4-6
Anyone who reads these words knows that Isaiah is talking about Jesus, but Isaiah wrote these words 700 years before Jesus was born. In stunning detail, Isaiah 52-53 tell us about the mission, death and resurrection of Jesus. Join us for special worship services for Holy Week as we see Jesus more clearly together in these powerful chapters.
